BlizzCon Tickets info

Blizzard began selling BlizzCon tickets at 1:00 PM by 1:02, the queue was around 20,000 people (i.e. likely sold out).

I kept refreshing at 12:59 PM and got in once it hit 1:00 PM and I was still 600th in queue. So just a FYI for people looking to purchase tickets in the future, you need to be on the site immediately or you will lose out.

Cable Modem Leasing

I’ve had Comcast for the past year and I never really knew that you could buy your own cable modem. I’ve been leasing their modem for $7/month and well, I just realized I forked over $84 to lease a pretty bad modem. Now multiply this by several years in which I’ve had Comcast on and off and well, I must’ve spent a few hundred dollars on something I could’ve just bought. Anyway, I figured I’d save myself some money in the future and so I bought a Motorola Cable Modem. It got good reviews and Comcast says it is compatible with all cable modems, so I guess that works.

Made2own.com Sucks

Wow, their customer service is horrible (i.e. they don’t respond to any support tickets). I ended up switching web hosts but either way I want my 10 hours back from all the crap I had to deal with to get everything back online. Also, if you try to pull your data off their server and if you download too much data via FTP, Made2own will ban your IP for a few minutes. If you do it 3 times, they will ban your IP permanently.

I hear that a lot of other people are having issues with their customer support. So if you’re reading this post, buyer beware.

Call of Duty Multi-player fee?!

My answer to this article

No.

Paying $60 for a game is enough, let alone having to pay $5/month or whatever. I mean, if COD were like a MMOFPS (which it’s not), then maybe but still, besides an MMORPG, I just don’t think it’s worth paying a monthly subscription… Also, if you’re an XBox 360 user, I would feel totally ripped off after having to pay for XBox Live. I have a PS3 and so COD is free for multi-player but I definitely wouldn’t pay $5/month to play multi-player and I used to be a pretty hardcore gamer too.

San Diego here I come!

I haven’t been back to San Diego since my friend’s wedding back in November 2009. I’ve lived in Indiana basically since December 2007 and this year is definitely the coldest winter I’ve experienced in quite some time so… warm weather is very welcome! From the looks of it, San Diego will be sunny for the next 5 days with temperatures in the low to mid-70’s. Given the fact that I haven’t really trained for the past 3 weeks due to the weather and completing the Boston Legal TV series, I think I may just run with my buddies on Sunday for the San Dieguito Half Marathon. We’ll see how I’m feeling and what they want to do. Either way, I’m super excited!
